(Greenfield, MA) With the back to school season bringing people back together, there has been a spike in COVID-19 cases. The Franklin County wastewater tracking has seen the presence of the virus jump from the end of August to the middle of September with the concentration levels almost doubling. In Greenfield, there have been 120 lab confirmed cases of COVID-19 although the number is expected to be much higher due to unreported results of at-home tests. There is an updated booster shot available to the public that has taken into account the recent variants of the virus. The shot contains half of the formula for the original virus and half of the updated formula for the recent omicron variants.
