(Greenfield, MA) Greenfield Public Schools redistricting committee has conducted a study of the school facilities throughout the town in order to determine how to best use the facilities. Using enrollment projections among other data, the committee has come up with four options for long-term plans for the buildings including potential grade-level reassignments.

The options include moving grade 5 to the elementary level, moving grade 8 to the middle school, realigning elementary school boundaries to more evenly distribute students, reopening Green River, and adding on to elementary school buildings. The Greenfield School Committee will be holding public meetings to allow community members the opportunity to discuss the options.

Meetings will be held at on October 11th at Greenfield High School, October 13th at Leyden Woods Community Room, October 20th at Oak Courts Community Room, and October 25th Federal Street School. Transportation and childcare are available for the two meetings at the Greenfield High School and Federal Street School.
