(Leverett, MA) Gary Gregoire, 44 years old from Athol has changed his plea to guilty in the 2019 deadly accident. On July 2nd in 2019, Gregoire was driving on Route 63 in Leverett traveling at speeds of up to 102 miles per hour with a suspended license. He crossed into the oncoming lane and struck Stephen Karpovich, 70 years old from Amherst, who was lifeflighted to Baystate Medical Center where he passed away. On Wednesday, Gregoire was sentenced to six to twelve years in state prison on charges of manslaughter and motor vehicle homicide. Gregoire will also lose his license for fifteen years.
