(Franklin County, MA) In this year’s round of Community One Stop For Growth, $143 million in grant awards will be distributed throughout Massachusetts. Of the $143 million, Franklin County communities will be receiving about $7.5 million for 20 projects.
Shelburne Falls Fire District has been awarded $2.3 million for structural repairs to the Bridge of Flowers. Colrain has been award $1 million for the Greenfield Road project. Hawley will be using the $800,000 in funds for their culvert project. Warwick will be installing guardrails on several roads with their $1 million award.
Montague has received two awards. One in the amount of $150,000 for a “feasibility study to locate and plan for a biosolids composting facility, either local or regional in scale.” The other is an award of $95,000 for a Nova Depot project creating a community co-working space.
Leverett received $75,000 for the second phase of the Comprehensive Plan for Leverett and $130,000 towards the Dudleyville Road improvement project.
And several other projects throughout the county will receive funding through this program.
