(Shelburne Falls, MA) The Iron Bridge in Shelburne Falls has been closed for this week by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation to repair “structural deficiencies.” During a routine inspection by MassDOT, they found a structural deficiency that led to the closing of one of the walkways in mid-September 2021. MassDOT, who owns and maintains the bridge, had originally planned on completing the work in the Spring of 2022 but the work was delayed due to other projects. The Bridge of Flowers remains open to pedestrian traffic.
