(Greenfield, MA) Mark Maloney of Greenfield passed away at his home on Friday, December 9th after experiencing a period of declining health. Maloney and six generations of his family before him called Franklin County home and dedicated his life to serving the community.

Maloney was born in 1959, he attended Greenfield Public Schools before moving on to Northfield Mount Hermon where he graduated. He went on to attend Wesleyan University and Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland.

He served on the Franklin County Technical School’s Committee and Greenfield’s Zoning Board of Appeals for over twenty years. Maloney had also served as the Greenfield City Council President for two terms and sat as the Chair of the Ways & Means Committee for two terms as well. As a devoted father to three sons, Maloney was an enthusiastic Cubmaster and little league coach.

Calling hours will be held Friday evening from 4-7pm at the Kostanski Funeral Home 220 Federal St. Greenfield, MA and a Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Saturday 12/17 at 10:30am at Blessed Trinity Parish, Holy Trinity Church 133 Main St. Greenfield.
