(Orange, MA) More details have been released in the case of an alleged stabbing that occurred early Monday morning in Orange.

Juan Rodriguez of Chicopee, Alex Santana of Chicopee, and Ali Ayala of Springfield have all been charged with attempted murder, receiving stolen property, malicious destruction, and resisting arrest in addition to other charges:

  • Alex Santana, 31 years old, has also been charged with possession of a class B drug (cocaine)
  • Ali Ayala, 22 years old, has also been charged with failure to stop for police, speeding, reckless operation of a vehicle, marked lanes violation, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, along with a warrant.

According to the Orange Police Department, an individual called 911 at approximately 3:44 a.m. stating “people were out to kill him.” The officers on scene observed a silver van take off and then come back towards them, not stopping when ordered to. One of the officers pursued the vehicle, sustaining damage to the cruiser when the occupants threw construction screws from the window. All three suspects were arrested and scheduled for a dangerousness hearing this Friday. 

3/20/2023 Three suspects are expected to appear today in Orange District Court for their arraignment following an alleged stabbing incident early Monday morning.

Orange Police were called to the area of North Main and Oxbow Road at 3:44 a.m. this morning on report of a stabbing. Upon arrival officers found a victim and a vehicle fleeing the scene.

According to the Orange Police Department, one officer stayed with the victim while another officer pursued the vehicle.

The vehicle led the police from Orange to Belchertown where the vehicle crashed and three suspects were seen fleeing the scene on foot. Shortly after, a Massachusetts State Police K-9 located two of the suspects who were taken into custody by the Belchertown Police. All three suspects are expected to be arraigned in Orange District Court Monday.

The victim was brought to Athol Memorial Hospital by the Orange Fire Department and has since been released.
