(Greenfield, MA) Greenfield Mayor’s Chief of Staff Dani Letourneau has announced Tuesday afternoon that she will be stepping down from her position in the Mayor’s Office on July 7th. Letourneau said in her announcement that she would be taking “an adult gap year” during which she’ll be resting, learning, spending time with her loved ones, and grieving the loss of her father that occurred during the global COVID-19 pandemic.
Chief of Staff Letourneau has served as the Mayor’s Chief of Staff for the past three and a half years during which several projects have been undertaken in the City such as the new library, fire station, skate park, and others. Before her current role she worked in several community roles such as Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Franklin County from 2013-2017 and Greenfield City Councilor of Precinct 6 from 2006 to 2011.
Greenfield Mayor Roxann Wedegartner has approximately six months left in her term and she has announced her campaign for re-election; it is unclear who will serve as her Chief of Staff for the remainder of the current term.
