(Sunderland, MA) Sunderland Police responded Tuesday morning to a report of a capsized pontoon boat that was seen floating down the Connecticut River from Montague. While no one was seen around the boat, the flooding, debris and fast moving waters presented dangers to anyone near the water. Residents have reported seeing a number of items floating down the swollen waterways including kayaks, coolers, and other flotation devices. The Connecticut River has reached its peak and may take about two days to fall back to full bank height. The Flood Warning remains in effect for the Pioneer Valley through early Friday morning.
