(Shelburne, MA) A first alarm electrical fire damaged a home on Bridge Street in Shelburne Friday morning. The Shelburne Falls Fire Department responded just after 7 a.m. when neighbors reported the fire as no one was home at the time.
Crews were able to work quickly to stop the fire from spreading through the house. No one was injured, but one family pet did perish and another was rescued by a police officer. The family has found a place to stay while repairs are made on the home, according to the Shelburne Falls Fire Department.
Mutual aid was brought in from Buckland Fire, Shelburne Fire, Colrain Fire, Charlemont Fire, Greenfield Fire, Conway Fire, Ashfield Fire, Shelburne Police, Colrain Ambulance, and the Shelburne Control Dispatchers.
