(South Deerfield, MA) Conway Fire along with Charlemont and Deerfield Fire crews performed a river rescue Wednesday evening. Four Rhode Island women were tubing in the Deerfield River from Bardwell’s Ferry Bridge when one flipped her tube in an area without access to shore, and the group called 911. Rescue teams located the women stranded on shore downstream and brought them to Stillwater Bridge, the next access point on the river. One woman was transported to Cooley Dickinson with an injured ankle.
