(Boston, MA) Governor Healey and Lieutenant Governor Driscoll signed the $56 billion budget for FY24 on Wednesday. The state budget includes $1 billion of new revenue from the Fair Share income surtax with priorities in education and transportation. 750 new housing vouchers for low-income renters will be generated through this budget along with $37 million invested into HomeBASE working to provide permanent housing to families eligible for emergency assistance. The budget also works towards funding a pathway to universal Pre-K by investing $71 million in early education and care.
