(Buckland, MA) The Buckland community pool reached completion this summer and opened in time for swim lessons and family fun. The project cost over $2 million paid for through a Parkland Acquisitions and Renovation for Communities grant, community donations through the Friends of Buckland Recreation non-profit organization, and approximately $1.6 million in town funding. The project has been in the works since the over fifty year old Buckaldn Rec Pool was closed in 2016 due to “unrepairable leaks” and was demolished the following year. The new pool at the Buckland Recreation Area also hosts newly redone infields and playground installed in 2018, upgraded pavilion, and new sidewalks.
