(Sunderland, MA) The South County Senior Center will be providing new digital access to the elder community they support through a grant award from the Executive Office of Elder Affairs. The $100,000 grant will fund the purchase of 131 iPads and 3 laptop computers. 129 of the iPads will be given to community members through a lottery process, while the others will remain at the senior center for public use. Additionally, the grant will fund training for the iPads and provide internet access for up to 52 elders. This is part of a $1.5 million grant program to support Councils on Aging throughout the state and improve digital literacy for older adults with the overall goal of enhancing and strengthening services that support aging in the community.
