(Orange, MA) The town of Orange received a $9,500 grant from the Veterans’ Heritage Grants Program to complete consideration efforts for the Massachusetts Peace Statue in Memorial Park. The grant has been matched by the American Legion Post 172 to cover the cost of maintenance on the statue to be completed by Royalston Arts Foundry who also worked on the statue in the ‘90s and performs yearly inspections. The statue stands in recognition of World War I and is one of the few war memorials without a weapon.
