(Boston, MA) Senator Jo Comerford and Representative Michelle Ciccolo introduced a bill to reduce carbon in buildings, this would encourage the state to “vote with their dollar” by choosing low-carbon materials for building, as it is estimated that about 11% of global emissions come from building materials. Choosing recycled materials to bind concrete and materials that require less binding, could significantly reduce carbon emissions.
