(Boston, MA) The Healey-Driscoll Administration has launched a new State Police Unit to combat and prevent hate crimes, the Hate Crimes Awareness and Response Team, HART. The unit is comprised of four to five sworn members of the State Police to serve as primary contacts for local law enforcement, community, and religious groups. The administration is also dedicating $460,000 in Hate Crime Prevention grants to schools.
