(Colrain, MA) The Town of Colrain has called for a Special Town Meeting to vote once again on transferring $50,000 into a new account to fund contracted services for snow and ice removal. Residents previously voted down this article in a November 14th Special Town Meeting, preferring to hire a Highway Department employee. However, the position has been advertised since July with no applicants. Without the additional employee, the town must hire outside services for snow and ice removal or the town may struggle to keep the roads clear this season.
