(Ashfield, MA) Ashfield will be holding a Special Town Meeting on December 5th to vote on eight articles. The Highway Department’s budget took a hit in the severe July flooding, costing the town approximately $126,000 so the Select Board is looking to replenish those funds. Also, if the town votes in favor of the project, the Police Department will be enclosing their cruiser bay to allow for more secure storage and would utilize funds from the Police Cruiser Revolving Fund to complete the project.
Another item to be voted on at the meeting is the taking by eminent domain of a retaining wall at the old Sanderson Field so the town may use available State Funds to repair the wall. The full meeting warrant is available through the town’s website here.
