(Greenfield, MA) U.S. Representative Jim McGovern is attending the Second Meeting of State Parties to the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons that is taking place this week at the United Nations in New York. McGovern and eleven other colleagues have called on President Biden to sign the treaty that has been ratified by 69 countries with 28 more joining them eminently. McGovern spoke Monday at the meeting about the need for the U.S. to ‘get off the sidelines’ with an urgent call to action for grassroots movements to end the threat of nuclear weapons.
