(Orange, MA) A dog purchased from an Orange resident has been impacted by canine parvovirus, or commonly known as Parvo, a disease found in dogs that can cause severe diarrhea, bloody excrement, vomiting, fever and death. The dog was reportedly purchased from Jason Whitmore on Daniel Shays Highway and the residence is now under quarantine.

While humans and other domestic animals are not at risk for catching the disease, dogs may be contagious for several months. Anyone who purchased a dog from them in December should contact their veterinarian if the dog presents symptoms of parvovirus.
