(Pittsfield, MA) Officials from National Grid, Eversource, and Berkshire Gas shared that their winter rates will be between 14 to 28 percent lower than last year. Eversource has filed a rate of 15.8 cents per kilowatt hour, a 28 percent decrease from last winter at 22 cents. Last year’s rate hikes have been attributed to rising prices of natural gas as a consequence of the war in Ukraine. This year, natural gas prices are lower, reflected in the new rates.
