(Turners Falls, MA) Turners Falls Fire Department responded to a fire on H Street at approximately 10:30 p.m. Wednesday night. Montague Police arrived on scene and confirmed the heavy smoke and fire, motivating the call for a second alarm. One firefighter sustained an injury while fighting the fire, and was treated and released. All eight occupants got out of the building safely.
Mutual aid was provided by Greenfield, South Deerfield, Orange, Montague Center, Brattleboro, Gill, Erving, Bernardston Fire Departments, and the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services Incident Support and Fire Investigative units. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Turners Falls Fire Department and the Massachusetts State Fire Marshal’s Office.
