(Orange, MA) Scam phone calls targeting the elderly have been sweeping through the Orange and Athol communities, according to the Orange Police Department. The scammers obtain personal information about the target, including names of family members and what they sound like, and use it to convince victims that their family member is in need of financial help. Orange Police say this scamming operation may be country wide or even world wide and if you receive a phone call like this, to hang up without giving them any information and alert your local police department.
