State Police Investigate Collision With Dump Truck On Route 2 Tuesday

(Westminster, MA) On Tuesday morning, a 20 year old Gardner man struck a Peterbilt dump truck with a plow attached, on Route 2 east in Westminster. The Gardner man sustained serious injuries and was first brought to Heywood Hospital in Gardner, then later brought to UMass Memorial Medical Center by LifeFLight. The driver of the dump truck was not injured. Massachusetts State Police preliminary report shows speed and weather conditions to be contributing factors in the collision, however the investigation is ongoing.
