GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The Greenfield Planning Board will review a site plan application from Starbuck’s at their meeting next Thursday, held at the 2nd floor City Hall Meeting Room and via Zoom . The new drive-through coffee shop will be taking over what is currently Greenfield’s last Friendly’s restaurant. Starbuck’s site plan application includes plans to have a drive-through to accommodate at least fourteen vehicles with a bypass lane, and landscaping updates to the property.
A statement from a Friendly’s spokesperson said the restaurant is set to close later this year in September, over a decade after the company filed for bankruptcy in 2011 and closed the Federal Street location among sixty-three other locations that closed at the time.
