SHELBURNE, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Following the merging of the Shelburne and Buckland Police Departments, the towns are now forming a Police Services Advisory Committee. According to the Committee’s description, “The purpose of the Committee will be to establish, analyze, and update as needed, the terms for the police services provided pursuant to this Agreement.”

The committee’s focus will be on reviewing and making recommendations on policing matters including each town’s proportional share of the policing expenditures, performance concerns if any arise,  and the process of admitting any new member towns into the shared policing agreement. 

Buckland and Shelburne have announced their search for community members to serve on the committee along with members of each town’s Select Board, Finance Committee,
