GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — At tonight’s Greenfield City Council meeting, the Community and Economic Development Director Amy Cahillane and Planning Director Eric Twarog will lead a discussion of the Major Development Review. Also, the council will vote on authorizing a response to the latest Open Meeting Law complaint, this time regarding the Executive Session councilors entered into at the January 17th meeting.

The Open Meeting Law complaint was received by the City Clerk on February 7th from Greenfield resident Marc Odato and details out several concerns with the Executive Session in the January 17th meeting including the fact that there was unanimous approval to enter into executive session without discussion as evidence that deliberated outside the confines of a public meeting.

In tonight’s meeting councilors will also hear a first reading of the 19 Capital Budget projects for FY2025. One of the capital projects is a request for $680,000 from Authorized Borrowing for Engineering and Design Work on the Main Street Redesign project and the council will be revisiting the Legion Avenue parking lot with another request for $65,000 to resurface the lot – a project that was previously voted down.
