AMHERST, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) —  Celebrated novelist and two time receiver of the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, author Colton Whitehead has been named at the keynote speaker at this year’s UMass Undergraduate Commencement ceremony on May 18th. This will be the 154th UMass commencement ceremony and 6,800 undergraduates will recede their degrees.

Whitehead will also receive an honor degree from the university in recognition of his literary achievements. The commencement ceremony begins at 10 a.m. at McGuirk Alumni Stadium.
