GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The FY2025 Greenfield Community Preservation Act projects were approved by City Council last evening. Projects this year included $50,000 for new affordable housing design in two building spanning 156 to 176 Main Street, repairing the Garden Block Building, improvements for Hillside Park, way finding signage and maps at Rocky Mountain and Highland Park trails. 

The CPA projects are funded by an up to 3% surcharge on property tax and must meet certain criteria, namely that the project be categorized as historic preservation, open space/recreation, or affordable housing. Greenfield adopted the CPA in 2020 with a surcharge of 1%.
