BOSTON, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation, MassDOT, has released their Route 2 Corridor Study identifying highway, safety, and multi-modal enhancement opportunities for the sixteen communities along Route 2 to combat worsening congestion and high crash numbers.

Suggested improvements include additional travel lanes, on and off ramp modifications, signal replacements, bike accommodations, and other enhancements. Following the public comment period, MassDOT will begin discussions with municipal planning organizations.
