ASHFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Ashfield will be holding a Special Town Meeting on July 15th to vote on three articles. The first is a vote on transferring $20,000 to the Park Tennis Court Rehab project after bids came in higher than expected. The funds are from federal grant dollars, ensuring the project will still be completed at no cost to taxpayers.
The second and third articles pertain to 911 communication upgrades at Sanderson Academy and Mohawk Trail Regional School, a districtwide effort to enhance emergency efforts. The telecommunications upgrades will allow teachers to call 911 directly from their classrooms and allow emergency responders to identify which classroom called for help.
