NORTHFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Northfield EMS Chief Mark Fortier announced he will be leaving his role after more than thirty years in the Northfield public safety departments. Fortier cited reasons of mental, physical, and emotional challenges when discussing the change with the Northfield Selectboard and the desire to spend more time taking care of himself.
The announcement comes a few months after Fortier’s paramedic license had been suspended for allegedly failing to properly asses an infant and refusing transportation for the child.
