BELCHERTOWN, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Belchertown police are requesting the public’s help in identifying a vehicle after a severely neglected and abused two year old beagle was found abandoned near Tractor Supply on July 2nd. Camera footage from surrounding businesses shows an older model dark colored Chevy or GMC pickup truck with a cap on the bed. Anyone with information regarding the vehicle or individuals in the vehicle can contact Officer Welch at 413-323-6685 ext. 231.

“The Belchertown Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a vehicle involved in the abandonment of a beagle.
On July 2, 2024 at about 9:00 pm, a severely neglected and abused beagle was abandoned near Tractor Supply Company. “Bagel” the beagle was found covered in feces. Her veterinary exam showed that she had mange, double ear infections, cherry eyes, and infections in her paws. She is about 2 years old, and appears to have had puppies at some point.
Camera footage from businesses in the area show that the involved vehicle appears to be an older model dark colored Chevy or GMC pickup truck with a cap on the bed. It is believed that there were at least two occupants in the vehicle at the time Bagel was abandoned.
