WHATELY, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The town of Whately has been awarded $82,542 through the Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) Program for their resilience project The Future Looks Like Whately: Planting Resilience through Nature-Based Solutions.
The town, in collaboration with pollinator-focused design studio Landscape Interactions, will select three town-owned parcels of land will be selected to demonstrate biodiversity-centered landscape designs that will maximize the benefits of native plant communities to address some of Whately’s top climate hazards while supporting native pollinator species at risk of local extinction.
