(Deerfield, MA) – The Deerfield Fire Department was called to a home Friday evening to investigate a possible lightning strike. Upon arrival, it was determined that lightning did strike a nearby tree, which caused the lightning to travel down the tree and exit through a piece of ledge. According to the department, the strike had the effect of a blast of dynamite. Since the residents were at the other end of the home, no one was injured.
