NORTHAMPTON, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) —  A former Easthampton man pleaded not guilty to 35 charges related to disseminating child sexual abuse materials from 2021 to 2023. The case came to Northampton and Easthampton investigators through cyber tip reports from Microsoft. 22 year old Liam Galpin’s bail was set at $10,000 with release conditions and the case has been continued to January 14th 2025.

Local man faces 35 charges stemming from sharing child sexual abuse imagery

NORTHAMPTON – A former Easthampton man today faced 35 charges related to incidents from 2021 to 2023 in which he widely disseminated child sexual abuse material.

Liam Galpin, 22, pleaded not guilty before Hampshire Superior Court Judge Bertha D. Josephson to: 7 charges of possession of child sexual abuse material; 26 counts of dissemination of visual materials depicting a child in a state of nudity or in sexual conduct; a single count of dissemination of bestiality; and a single count of attempting to commit a crime by unauthorized use of a computer system.

Northwestern Assistant District Attorney Anne Yereniuk, deputy chief of the Child Protection Unit who is prosecuting the case on behalf of the Commonwealth, and Defense Attorney Jonah Goldsmith of the Committee for Public Counsel Services, agreed to request bail of $10,000 with release conditions, including that Galpin reside with a relative and have no contact with children under 18. Judge Josephson adopted the recommendations.

The case came to the attention of investigators through multiple cyber tip reports by Microsoft to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Detectives with the Easthampton and Northampton Police Departments investigated.

Judge Josephson continued the case to Jan. 14, 2025.
