ATHOL, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — A Request for Proposals has been issued for the building currently being worked on to become the North Quabbin Veterans Center at 72 Freedom Street in Athol.
The Athol Selectboard has already issued a temporary license for the project, however legal counsel advised them to follow through with the RFP process. The new center is an effort to centralize the local veterans groups in an accessible space.
Project leader John Dodge said he is doubtful another organization will submit a stronger proposal for veterans services.
