GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Last Friday in Greenfield, the Discovery School at Four Corners went into a brief shelter-in-place when a state police traffic stop turned into a lengthy foot pursuit ending in the arrest of two individuals.
Superintendent Karin Patenaude shared that she commends the students and teachers, staff, and administrators for their calm composure throughout the event.
In last night’s City Council Meeting, Mayor Ginny Desorgher also praised the communication efforts between the police, schools, and families. In response to Councilor Gordon’s question about why the city’s alert system had not been utilized to notify residents of the pursuit, the Mayor said she is in talks with the police department as she was also not notified of the event as it was occurring.
