AMHERST, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — UMass Amherst has been awarded $7 million from the Northeast Microelectronics Coalition to fund the first year of a collaborative microelectronics project. The university will be working with small businesses, semiconductor companies, community colleges, and defense contractors to make efficient AI hardware for military and civilian applications.
