DEERFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Following a vote approving the $3.8 million in Community Preservation Act funding at the Deerfield Special Town Meeting, the 1888 Building project will move forward along with $4 million in congressional funding to construct an addition to the building.

After much discussion about the St. James Church, purchased with CPA funds for subsidized senior housing, residents approved the motion to allow developers to make proposals for the project.

The article pertaining to purchasing new voting equipment to efficiently and anonymously electronically vote at Town Meetings was voted down with some residents citing potential further confusion using the new equipment to vote.
