BOSTON, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — 66 Democrat and Republican legislators signed a letter to Governor Maura Healey showing bipartisan support for the changes the Massachusetts Correction Officers Federated Union is seeking. The request comes after a violent incident at the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center last month where five Corrections Officers were hospitalized. Ongoing issues drove the union to seek intervention for the protection of staff and inmates.
