LEVERETT, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The Leverett Elementary school narrowly avoided a full building flood when a dedicated employee, Chris Cole the school’s Custodian, stopped by the school on a Saturday and found the sprinkler system had failed, dumping large volumes of water near the school’s library. The Select Board, Cole, and the school are looking into ways to address the sprinkler system ranging from a $225,000 vapor treatment to reduce weak points to a $1 million or more new system.
