BERNARDSTON, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) —  Several people were injured in an early morning accident on Route 10 this morning and one driver received two traffic citations, according to Bernardston Police.

Police investigations found that one vehicle rear ended another that was stopped in the road to turn into a driveway. The driver of the vehicle that rear ended the other was issued citations for mobile phone use while operating a motor vehicle and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Route 10 was temporarily closed around 7:30 a.m. Thursday morning, but reopened after debris was cleared, and several people were transported to the hospital following the accident.

Officials are reminding drivers of the hands free law, and that drivers seen with phones in their hands will be stopped.
