GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — At Wednesday’s Greenfield City Council meeting, a public hearing will be held for the Fiscal Year 2025 Tax Classification.

Ahead of the public hearing and vote on the Residential Factor, Residential Exemption and Small Commercial Exemption, Chief Assessor Randy Austin came to the Ways and Means meeting Tuesday evening to say that the Assessor’s Office has done what it can to minimize the impact of inflation rates and rising costs, while keeping up with market values.

  • no Residential Exemption be adopted for Fiscal Year 2025
  • and, no Small Commercial Exemption be adopted for Fiscal Year 2025

all of which the Ways and Means Committee voted on with positive recommendations to the full council.
