GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — At last night’s Greenfield City Council meeting a climate resolution and a resolution supporting the Northern Tier Passenger Rail project were passed.
The climate resolution declares a climate emergency and according to Councilor Lora Wondolowski, who brought the resolution forward, making the declaration will allow the city to access grant funding for climate projects.
Councilor John Garrett brought forth the resolution supporting the Northern Tier Passenger Rail project after speaking with state leaders about what the city could do to support the project. Councilor Garrett based the resolution on one that was passed by the North Adams City Council, with their permission.
