WHATELY, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — In October and November a combined 4,202 acres burned in Massachusetts across 1,226 brush fires.
As weather conditions improve, Whately residents can now burn outside again according to Fire Chief JP Kennedy.
Effective Tuesday morning, November 26th cooking and camping are allowed, although brush, bonfires, and unattended fires are still not allowed.
Chief Kennedy said there may be another burn ban without additional significant rainfall.
