ORANGE, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Voters in Orange approved the acceptance of land from Seaman Paper for the Orange Industrial Park water tower at Monday’s Special Town Meeting. In order to move ahead with the Approval Not Required Plan for the water tower, another parcel of land from a second property owner, Power Fund Partners, is needed and was approved to be accepted or taken at Monday’s meeting.
Also at Orange’s Special Town Meeting was a positive vote on two articles related to enforcing animal bylaws. According to Police Chief James Sullivan, there have been instances of repeat offenders who are not taking steps to contain their animals. The enforcement bylaw will have first offenders notified of the animal bylaw, a second offense would result in a written warning, and the third offense comes with a $50 fine.
