(Bernardston, MA) Along with Star Wars Day, May 4 is also International Firefighters’ Day. Bernardston Fire Department celebrated the holiday by lighting up the station. International Firefighters’ Day is a day when the international community can celebrate the contributions firefighters make to the safety of their surrounding communities. Celebration of the event includes wearing blue and red ribbons pinned together or by participating in a celebration or memorial event.
