SOUTH HADLEY, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) —  A South Hadley woman is attempting to regain her life savings after being scammed out of $20,000. Madeline Slade was allegedly scammed by a Geico representative impersonater and has since been unsuccessful in recouping the losses through her bank, Bank of America. In August the Protecting Consumers from Payment Scams Act was brought to the U.S. House of Representatives and if passed could make electronic transfers more secure against scammers.
